Supporting New Mums in Sefton: Sefton Baby Baskets Needs Your Help

A shining example of community care, Sefton Baby Baskets is a registered Sefton-based charity that continues to make a real difference in the lives of local families. Entirely volunteer-led, this heart-led initiative provides new mums—referred by healthcare professionals—with a beautifully packed Moses basket filled with essentials to support them and their baby in the early days.

Each basket includes:

  • A cosy Moses basket

  • New baby clothes, blankets, and muslins

  • A toiletry pack for both mum and baby

  • Brand new pyjamas and slippers for mum

These thoughtful items are designed not only to provide practical support but also to offer comfort, dignity, and a reminder that every mum and baby matters.

💛 Rising Demand, Rising Costs

So far this year, Sefton Baby Baskets has already helped 201 mums—a testament to the ever-growing need within the community. As living costs continue to impact families, the demand for support is rising faster than ever.

While most of the basket contents are generously donated by the public, there are essential costs the charity must cover for every gift:

  • A new mattress

  • Pyjamas and slippers for mum

  • Toiletries

  • Rent and utility bills for the space they operate from

These necessities mean that financial donations are more crucial than ever to keep the charity running and expanding its reach.

🍼 Donations Needed

The team is currently in urgent need of the following baby essentials:

  • Babygrows

  • Vests

  • Muslins

Specifically in sizes newborn, 0–1 month, and 0–3 months.

If you have any gently used and clean items, they would be gratefully received.

📍 Drop-off Location:
Waterloo Town Hall (ramp entrance via car park on Church Road, L22 5NA)
🕒 Drop-off Times:
Monday and Wednesday mornings, 9:15am–11:15am
