Nature enthusiasts and curious minds alike are invited to take part in a series of fascinating wildlife walks along the beautiful Sefton Coast, hosted by Natural England. These seasonal events offer the perfect opportunity to connect with nature, learn about local species, and enjoy the stunning surroundings of one of the UK’s most ecologically diverse coastal landscapes.
Here’s what’s coming up this spring and early summer:
🌿 Wednesday 16th April – Wildlife Walk: Search for the Emperor Moth
Time: 1–3pm

🌼 Tuesday 13th May – Wildlife Walk: Early Summer Insects & Wildflowers
Time: 1–3pm

Explore the wonders of early summer with a guided look at native insects and blooming wildflowers.
🐝 Saturday 24th May – Wildlife Walk: Bees
Time: 11am–1pm

Learn all about the role of bees in our ecosystem and spot these vital pollinators in action.
🦋 Saturday 14th June – Moths: Checking Our Overnight Moth Trap
Time: 9am–12 noon

Take a closer look at the incredible variety of moths caught overnight as Natural England shares their findings from the moth trap.

The terrain on these walks can be uneven, so sturdy footwear is a must. Attendees are also advised to bring weather-appropriate clothing, insect repellent, sunscreen, snacks, water, and if you have them, binoculars to enhance your wildlife spotting experience.
